Umhlanga Rocks is a well known South African tourist destination. Anyone who’s been there would most certainly recognise the whalebone pier and lighthouse situated on the beach. Paul Doran recreated these iconic landscapes in an official MOC commissioned by The Certified LEGO Store for their Gateway branch.
We welcome an extraordinary guest on BlockBlaze this week. Kristian Imhof is the LEGO Country Manager for South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Kristian shares his LEGO story with us, how he got involved with LEGO and how LEGO SA engages with fans of the brand in SA and beyond. Finally, he shares some of the LEGO models that are close to his heart.
This week we welcome Barry Kay to BlockBlaze. Besides being the chairman of CapeLUG and the founder of SAFOLs, he’s also an avid collector of Brickheadz and Batman minifigures.
The Market was built by Peter Furstenberg as an entry into the South African Brickfair 2019 and won first place. It features a three-storey building with a supermarket as well as an adjacent house. This entry is packed with incredible detail around every corner and promises not to disappoint.
