This week we welcome Barry Kay to BlockBlaze. Besides being the chairman of CapeLUG and the founder of SAFOLs, he’s also an avid collector of Brickheadz and Batman minifigures.
The Market was built by Peter Furstenberg as an entry into the South African Brickfair 2019 and won first place. It features a three-storey building with a supermarket as well as an adjacent house. This entry is packed with incredible detail around every corner and promises not to disappoint.
The model, commissioned by the LEGO Certified Store, was designed and built by Peter Furstenberg, a South African adult fan of LEGO. The model contains roughly 13750 pieces and celebrates one of Cape Town’s most iconic regions, the Bo-Kaap, characterised by its colourful houses around the district. The model contains an artist’s impression of 5 iconic houses in Wale Street, a block away from the Bo-Kaap Museum. The houses were chosen for their vibrancy and colour, capturing the colourful essence of the region.
BlockBlaze visited the zaLUG Clearwater Display this weekend. Many people flocked to the tables to view the builder’s latest creations and share in the fun. The event ran from 24 – 25 October 2019.
